The QUT (Queensland University of Technology) and Queensland Rugby League is excited to offer a prestigious PhD scholarship for individuals interested in delving into the physical determinants of rugby league players who participate in QRL Statewide programs. Last week I had the absolute pleasure of showing him where I have been working over the last nine years, as a result of what began over a decade ago. Over a decade later he is still the person I reach out to in order to brain storm ideas and receive honest feedback. Morgans continuous mentorship is something I am extremely thankful for. Something I could have only ever dreamed of. This qualified me for an International research scholarship and enabled me to undertake a PhD with Surfing Australia a year later. The MSc research project that followed would be the catalyst for the rest of my career, being my first journal publication and awarded the UKSCA student research award. He took me under his wing and supervised me along side another amazing sports scientist, Ian McKeown. Twelve years ago Morgan interviewed me for an internship at Cardiff Blues Academy, of which I was successful in attaining. I have been fortunate to have some great mentors throughout my career and Morgan Williams is one of them.
